I think what happens is, people see an ad that asks if they are interested in a business opportunity and if so, fill out the form... They put in whatever information they want just to get past that screen to see what the deal is...
I use the leads with phone numbers only...
What I do is call the lead first, following the script provided by Tim. You can also click on the information when the lead comes up to verify the address. Then I click on the IP to see if it is close to the address... Sometimes by doing a reverse search on the phone number you can see if the address matches... If so... That is a good, qualified lead... After that, I place a call... Half the time, the people don't remember even filling out the form... That's normal because when I worked for a "traditional" company, we had an online application. I would call people and half of them didn't remember going to the website and a lot of them had gone on earlier that same day...
Once I get thru to a real person, I follow the script and make sure their email address is correct and tell them I will follow up with a few days... Making an appointment. Then I send an email thanking them for their time and that briefly describes what I am doing and the I am looking forward to talking to them again... You don't want to hype anything...
Then I follow up based on the time of the appointment... Sometimes they are in, sometimes they are not...
If you start just by sending an email, most people will just delete it and half the time it may even go to the SPAM folder... At least by calling the leads first, you have a chance that your email will get thru...
Just remember, with this or even contacting people you already know, people will tell you what you want to hear or tell you what they think they want... You just have to sort thru them to find the people that really want to do what you are doing!!
Hope this helps,
Take Care,
James
